know me
Hi, I’m Danielle Cooke, LCSW.
I’m the owner of The Quieter Mind Counseling, offering in-person therapy in Point Pleasant, NJ and virtual services across New Jersey, Vermont, Idaho, and Florida.
I provide individual therapy for adolescents, young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach is engaged, practical, and grounded—focused not just on talking, but on helping you better understand yourself and create meaningful change.
For years, I’ve worked in community mental health, substance use treatment, and group private practice—supporting people through some of the most overwhelming and complicated periods of their lives. I’ve sat with anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that makes even simple things feel heavy, and relationship patterns that keep repeating no matter how hard someone tries to change them.
What I’ve learned is this: most people aren’t “broken”—they’re just stuck in patterns that once made sense, but no longer serve them.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, honest, and grounded. I’m not a therapist who just nods and listens—I’m engaged in the process with you. Together, we’ll look at what’s really going on beneath the surface, make sense of it, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My work is insight-oriented, while also pulling from practical approaches like CBT and DBT when it’s helpful.
Therapy with me is a space where you can be real—no pressure to have it all figured out.
About Me
Danielle M Cooke, LCSW
FounderHi, I’m Danielle Cooke, LCSW.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Georgian Court University and my Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University. My clinical background includes work in community mental health, substance use outpatient and residential treatment, group private practice, and clinical utilization review—giving me a well-rounded understanding of both the therapeutic process and how treatment is evaluated and supported at a systems level.
Over the years, I’ve worked with clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and major life transitions. I’ve sat with people in moments where everything feels overwhelming, uncertain, or stuck—and I don’t take that lightly.
I didn’t start The Quieter Mind Counseling just to have my own practice—I started it because I saw how often therapy was missing something.
Too many people have had experiences where therapy felt surface-level, overly clinical, or disconnected—where they left sessions still feeling stuck, just with more words for it.
I wanted to create something different.
The Quieter Mind Counseling is built on the idea that when your thoughts feel loud, constant, or overwhelming, it becomes hard to feel grounded in your own life. Therapy shouldn’t just be a place to vent—it should help you understand yourself in a deeper way and actually create change.
This is a space where therapy feels more human, more engaged, and more useful. A place where you can slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and start to feel like yourself again.
You don’t need to have everything figured out to start—you just need a place to begin.
